St Cuthbert's Way
Day 1 - We set off with our 2 dogs on Dere Street - a Roman Road.

"'St Oswald's Way provides an interesting variety: coast path, riverside walking, a short stretch of moorland and even tidal mudflats on the first day. Most walks are very picturesque and not particularly demanding. We liked the fact that the distances are not too great so we had plenty of time to visit local sites along the way such as the wonderful castles. We took a boat trip to the Farne Islands to see seals, puffins and other seabirds. St Oswald's Way finishes at Heavenfield on Hadrian's Wall and we added on a couple of extra days walking by the Wall and visiting Roman forts.
All in all we had a lovely holiday and the organisation and support from Shepherds Walks was excellent.
