From the rolling Cheviot Hills (of St Cuthbert’s Way) to the flat and wonderfully contrasting Northumberland Coast Path brings together two very different landscapes to pass through on the same holiday and what a walking holiday it makes! As we have walked these paths many times it has enabled us to bring these very different tastes together for you to walk as one.
Similarly, with the National Trail that is the Hadrian’s Wall Trail, one of the most popular trails in the region you walk the famous middle section passing the iconic locations of Birdoswald Roman Fort, Sycamore Gap, Housesteads and Chesters Roman Forts before you reach and join St Oswald’s Way at Heavenfield. After both routes share the same path for a few miles you turn North passing through farmland before rising and passing over the Heather-clad upland of the famous Simonside Hills.
